This 2007 has meant many things for me but mostly it has been about discipline -training- I wrote a whole blog about that in my old site. If you have read the book Wild At Heart this will make much sense for you.
In certain tribes men go through an initiation process before going into manhood, usually is a difficult, painful and even risky process. I'm sure that if you google or search in youtube "manhood initiation" you'll find good results. I was watching a podcast from National Geographic a couple of weeks ago about a tribe who self-inflict wounds on their backs and arms to get crocodile-like scars. They say that if a man can endure such pain he will mostly likely be able to endure other trials in life. Well... it seems it was just what I was missing this year ha ha! Some physical pain and heck yea that I'm getting it. Tomorrow morning I'm going into surgery for my nose. Don't worry, is not a self-esteem issue but rather a health issue. I really have problems breathing through my nose when it gets cold and humid, or with allergies and believe that I have all those year long in the country of eternal spring -Guatemala.
So tomorrow I'd like to believe this is the end of the initiation process, I know it'll be painful but I'm calm right now... I want to go to sleep! ha ha.

Oh yes Sam I have read that book u say and I also read Captivating which you may know is the same book but for girls... COOL! And you are in my prayers...
